“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:13-14, AMP
"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him." Colossians 1:15-16
“Oh Lord, my God, When I, in awesome wonder, Consider all the works Thy hands have made… Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art.” Carl Boberg
“We are Christians because we find our identity, life, and purpose in Christ.” Paul Washer. Ponder how our identity in Christ gives us joy as God’s creation.
"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? —unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" 2 Corinthians 13:5.
"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24.
Examine your heart when it comes to enjoying God's creation for motives, concerns, readiness, and equipment.
"Precious Father, thank You for allowing us to benefit from the beauty of all that Your hand has created. Thank You for our seas, forests, and skies. Thank You for all the beautiful and fragrant plants, and for the power and wonder of every animal. Thank You for the seasons and the rains that keep our earth reproducing. We will wake the dawn with our song. O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. When we look at the night sky and see the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars You set in place; what are mortals that You should think about them, human beings that You should care for them? The highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to You. We are blessed to be the recipients of all the beauty that surrounds us and testifies of Your awesome glory. We will sing to You as long as we live. We will praise You until our last breath! May all our thoughts be pleasing to You, for we rejoice in You, Father." (From "A Prayer of Appreciation for the Beauty of God’s Creation")
READY: Now that you have studied Biblically, trained Spiritually, examined your heart, and prayed over this challenge, you are ready to undertake enjoying God's creation You equipped yourself Spiritually, mentally, and physically, so get ready to go girl! This is a tough challenge! If you don't feel ready, trust that God has set you up to succeed!
SET: When God sent Moses with a message, Moses knew it may not be received or go well for him, to the point that in Exodus 4, Moses complained, "I am slow of speech and tongue” and said to the Lord, "Please send someone else". But Moses did go! Moses was later described as being "powerful in speech and action" (Acts 7:22). When it comes to enjoying God's creation, you may think, "I marvel at all of Your magnificent creation" while maintaining a low view of yourself or your abilities. Too high or too low view of oneself are both ways of being self-focused when we're called to be Christ-focused. Moses doubted himself but God called Moses to focus on what God could do through him. God is calling you and will overcome your fears and faults to work through you. When we trust God, our inadequacy becomes our legacy.
How can you make enjoying God's creation a lifelong discipline?
Pray to persevere in enjoying God's creation.
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised." Hebrews 10:35-36
